Why Vote for Me
I am a life-long supporter of Scottish Independence. I believe in Social Justice and caring for the most vulnerable in society. Building on my experiences gained during my career in the National Health Service, I have a deep and extensive understanding of the daily struggles and challenges faced by the people we serve. I feel that I now can make a significant contribution to the people of Stirling at a national level. After leaving Stirling High School, I joined the NHS, enjoying a long career in many specialties. Over the years I trained as a Registered Nurse, Midwife, in NNICU and Health Visitor.
At the inception of the NHS, its ethos was to provide care ‘from the
cradle to the grave’. Throughout my career, I have provided that care for
many patients and their families and continue doing so today.
I have been active in my community – from involvement with the Gala
committee, Chairperson of the Toddlers and Playgroup Committees,
Brown Owl, founder member and chairperson for 10 years of Save
Gillies Hill campaign and 8 years’ service in the TA
During my life and career, I have gained skills and experience I now use
on a daily basis giving me the confidence that the qualities, skills,
experience and ability I have, will allow me to fulfil the demanding role of
your MSP for Stirling.
Skills, such as, strong leadership, high levels of integrity, compassion
and empathy; a hard-work ethic, conscientious and commitment, with
excellent communication skills.
In 2017, Scotland was voted the most beautiful country in the world.
For me, Stirling is by far the most beautiful and ideal place to live and
work.
A vast area, Stirling is often compared to the size of Luxembourg both
rural and urban, hills and lochs, - even an island, wonderful scenery,
majestic history and historic buildings – Stirling offers all you could
want.
The only way to improve Stirling is if Stirling were in an Independent
Scotland
